After a rather eventful week in Dublin, the SharetheChili Team is back in sunny Malta and now it’s time to reflect on the fabulous experience that was the iGaming Super Show.
After months of preparation and scheduling (and excitement!), finally it was time for us to head to Ireland for a 2 day affiliate conference which was certain to provide us with never ending fun and of course valuable business opportunities. But, this was nearly just a ‘pie in the sky’ as the dreaded ash cloud decided to make another unexpected and unwanted appearance. Luckily though, the Gods were on our side and on Tuesday morning the team headed to Dublin without any problems… phew!
Arriving late Tuesday afternoon, the first stop was the venue (luggage and all) to set up our brand new stand and towers. First impressions were not good as our stand position seemed rather out of the way and lonely at the back of the room, but being the positive people that we are, we set up the stand, made it look beautiful and left with a smile on our faces!
Next stop was the Ballsbridge Inn Hotel and the only thing that was on our minds was FOOD and GUINNESS. You can’t go to Ireland without trying their finest beverage… smooth cold Guinness. Admittedly none of us warmed to the drink, but hey, it was worth a try
After a nice meal together, we all retired to our rooms to prepare for the big day – DAY 1 of the conference.
Day One
The following morning we headed to the conference bright eyed and bushy tailed and were all pleasantly surprised to see the amazing transformation of the venue and finally our stand position wasn’t that bad after all. Situated between PAF Partners (table tennis!) and GoWild affiliates and close to the conference rooms and cafeteria, we were suddenly optimistic about our flow of affiliate traffic!
The stand looked great, we looked great and we were ready to rock ‘n’roll!
The day was successful in so many ways, we managed to meet lots of different affiliates and delegates and saw lots of new and familiar faces. Affiliate deals were made, future collaborations discussed and a great atmosphere was experienced by all.
Many people were intrigued about Chiliconnect, our new add-on tool, and the team were excited to show off its fantastic features and of course discuss its affiliation prospects. The feedback was extremely positive both in terms of innovation and player acquisition/retention.
IGSOP Day 1
Wednesday also meant the first day of the iGSOP, the poker tournament held during the conference. Chilipoker was the proud sponsor of this event and it was fabulous to see the tables, chips and dealers decked out in Chilipoker attire.
It was also nice to see familiar ASOP players and to have a catch up with the players qualified on Chilipoker. Every player was given a Chilipoker goodie bag, including branded hat, t-shirt, lighter and stress ball (for those stressful poker times!)
Calvin Ayre 50th Birthday Bash – Seven Deadly Sins!
There is one word to describe Wednesday night’s shenanigans – A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!
The expectations were grand and he certainly didn’t disappoint, this was the party of the century.
Creepiness, astonishment and shock are just some of the words to describe the birthday celebrations. Seven deadly sins was the theme and Calvin Ayre/Bodog went all out to ensure this party was never to be forgotten.
Knife wielding midgets, zombies, trapeze artists and exotic dancers were just a smidgeon of the night’s entertainment and boy what a night it was… a truly unforgettable party… congratulations to all the organisers, you certainly pulled this one off
Day Two
Being the sensible professionals that we are, waking up for the second day of the conference was a doddle
and by 10am we were ready for another day of business. Although less busy than the first day, we had another successful day of business, meeting lots of affiliates, delegrates and vendors to discuss our products, future plans and affiliate deals on offer.
IGSOP Day 2
In the afternoon, the remaining players took their places, all eager to win the incredible first prize – $6000 and iGSOP Gold and Diamond Bracelet worth $5,000! The game was intense throughout and after a short time the tournament was down to the final table.
The final table had a little extra spice for us as Adam Small (pocketfives.com) our prize draw winner started as chip leader and one of our affiliates Artur was also playing a very good game.
Unlucky for Artur he just missed the money positions and finished as the highly annoying bubble. However Adam stayed in the game for a little longer and finally finished in 5th place and won an impressive $750! Congratulations Adam!
It wasn’t that much longer when the final heads up was in play and the intense battle finally climaxed when Armit Cohen (StarPartner.com) triumphantly claimed first prize! Big congratulations to Armit, enjoy your winnings!
Overall, the iGaming Super Show was a huge success for the SharetheChili team and it’s certainly a conference we won’t be forgetting in a flash.
Thank you to everyone who made it a blast and see you all in Barcelona!
